I Use Them For Smuggling Achievement

To upgrade your spaceship, firstly install a "Shielded Cargo Hold" and a "Scan Jammer". This can be done by the Crimson Fleet service technician at the Key Space Station in the Kryx Star System. Use the "B" key to access the Ship Builder and the "G" key to add the aforementioned cargo and equipment.

"Aurora", a contraband item, can be found in the bar at The Key. Once you have it, store it in your shielded cargo hold. Afterwards, fast travel to Jemison or another hub world. Here, your ship will be scanned - if you pass, you'll earn an achievement and land safely. If you fail the scanning process, load your last save and try again.
