Origin

Muphrid, also known by its Bayer designation Eta Boötis (η Boötis), is a binary star system in the constellation of Boötes. Located relatively close to the prominent star Arcturus in the night sky, Muphrid is about 37 light-years away from Earth.

Muphrid is of particular interest to astronomers not only because of its proximity to our Solar System but also due to its binary nature. The primary star in the Muphrid system is a G-type main-sequence star, similar in many respects to our Sun, while its companion is thought to be a white dwarf, the remnants of a star that has exhausted its nuclear fuel.

The system's proximity and the characteristics of its primary star have also led to discussions and speculations about the potential for planets within the system, though as of my last update in 2022, no exoplanets have been confirmed around Muphrid. As with many stars in our vicinity, Muphrid provides valuable insights into stellar evolution, binary interactions, and the potential environments for planet formation.
